When your users share documents from PocketMEDIA, they come from a PocketMEDIA address by default. If you want the email to come from their address, we need to set that up. This is pretty straight forward, although for security reasons it has to be done with a technical contact on your side.

Please follow these instructions to set that up.

  1. Decide which domains you need PocketMEDIA to send emails from. E.g. abc.com and abcd.com.

  2. You will need a technical contact for each domain. This is someone who manages the DNS. Your IT manager or CTO should be able to point you in the right direction.

  3. Send the following email to [email protected] to introduce us to them.

    Hi

We'd like to setup PocketMEDIA so that customers will receive emails from our own company email addresses.

The email domains we need to send from are:

    abc.com
    abcd.com

    (replace with your own)

The technical contact at each is:

    [email protected]
    [email protected]

I understand that you will reach out with them to set this up so that PocketMEDIA can securely send emails from our domain name.

    Many thanks

  4. We will then set this up, and work with your technical contact so they can make sure things are setup on your side.

What's happens next?

We use Mandrill for our secure email sending from PocketMEDIA. It works like this:

  1. You respond to a verification email from Mandrill for your domain(s).
  2. You enable DKIM by creating a TXT record in your DNS for mandrill.
  3. You enable SPF by creating a TXT record in your DNS.

What emails does PocketMEDIA send?

PocketMEDIA will only send an email from your domain when a user shares documents from within the app. The email is sent to the customer and will appear to come from the user.

This user will must have logged into PocketMEDIA using one of the domains you authorised (see above), otherwise the email sending will fail.
